NOEL GALLAGHER + ADIDAS

This is an interesting partnership to be sure. To help promote the debut album of his new band, the High Flying Birds, Noel Gallagher, formerly of Oasis, collaborated with Adidas on a custom sneaker. It’s pretty sharp, but haven’t we seen it before? Gallagher went with a Trainer 72 in Adidas blue and white, with gummy soles. For your chance to win one of only 200 pairs being created, head over the Adidas facebook fanpage.

TIMBERLAND ABINGTON BOOT

Most outdoor-inspired boots come in every shade of brown but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a good black version. Timberland has three solid options as part of their Abington collection: the Hiker, the Farmer’s Boot and the 7-Eye Moc Boot. Our pick would be the bottom Moc Boot, as it’s just the right height and really feels like a utility boot. It will pair up nicely with navy and (more…)

ADIDAS CAMPUS KICKS

The Adidas “Campus” Original is a great option for fall. The suede fabric and darker, muted colors make them season appropriate. Ideal footwear, whether you’re running a meeting at a creative agency, or simply running to class. $65, available at Adidas.

TIMBERLAND SPECTATOR OXFORD

Heritage and history are big in menswear right now and these oxfords from Timberland certainly look the part. You can wear them with jeans, broken-in slim khakis, or even a sharp gray suit. If they start to get worn and distressed, all the better. $180, available at Timberland.

TRETORN NYLITE

The Tretorn Nylite men’s tennis shoes first debuted back in 1967 and was widely regarded as the first luxury sports shoe. It’s really the perfect shoe for a summer vacation and, along with (more…)

SUMMER COLLABORATION WITH SPERRY

Take a look at this recent project for Sperry Top-Sider. The goal was to highlight 7 key styles from their men’s collection. I found items at home that helped tell the story of each shoe, from the classic CVO that you’d wear on a boat, to a beautiful red suede lace up for trips abroad. I’m happy with how it came out, you can flip through each page to see how we brought the 7 styles to life. Now living on the home page of the Sperry website. The dark gray authentic original on the last slide for City Touring are my favorite. Here are the pics:  (more…)

CLARKS DESERT BOOTS

Many men struggle with their footwear choices, having no idea what to wear with certain trousers, jeans, sport jackets etc. They’ll wear a classic lace-up dress shoe during the week, and running shoes on the weekend, and that’s it. They’re missing the critical in-between shoes that will bring life back to their look. For the fall, make sure you have at least 1 or 2 pairs of great boots, one rugged, (more…)

On August 18th they will be releasing the “Stumptown” series, a new product line that marries the past with the present and retails for $310 to $330. Danner tests and examines each piece of leather, six separate times and you can quickly grasp what goes into each boot by simply holding one in your hand (more…)

HOW TO WEAR SADDLE SHOES

The key to wearing shoes that have a lot of personality is to balance them with basics. Take these beautiful saddle shoes for example. You could go with madras shorts or a seersucker blazer, but you’d risk looking like you were trying too hard, a big no-no for most guys. Instead, for a casual look, pair these (more…)

NIKE FOR J.CREW

Despite it’s track and field heritage, the Cortez is one super laid-back summer sneaker. Nike has created two exclusive colors for J.Crew, with anthracite getting our pick. Debuting in 1972, the Cortez was the first Nike shoe to feature the now iconic swoosh. $75, available at J.Crew
