Give these two products a try and they’re sure to remain in your grooming arsenal.

1. Khiel’s Creme with Silk Groom. Conditions and adds moisture to your hair so it doesn’t look dry or brittle. It also allows you to subtly style your hair without going Gotti. The design of the bottle is terrible. You’ll end up leaving it upside down like a ketchup bottle for the second half of it’s life. $18 for a 4.2 ounce bottle, available at Khiel’s.

2. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Grooming Pomade. Finding a good gel can be a hassle. This ones a keeper. It’s a clear product that has just the right amount of hold, not too sticky or heavy. It will give you that I-don’t-give-a-damn, bed-head look, or a smart old-school side part, whatever you’re going for that day. It also doesn’t smell very much, which is an annoying drawback of many competitors who for some reason think your hair should smell like musk. $12, for 3.5 ounce jar, available at Amazon.
