In 1925, a young American named Harry Craddock moved to London and began working at The American Bar in the elegant Savoy Hotel. Americans started arriving in droves around that time, eager to escape the cultural restraints of the 1920’s and 30’s back home. Craddock soon became head bartender and started creating some of our greatest cocktails, from slings and smashes to fizzes and flops. His many recipes are featured in The Savoy Cocktail Book, first published in 1930 and still available today.

Mixing delicious cocktails is an essential skill for any host, pick up this book and surprise your date a delicious “White Lady,” instead of the very ordinary vodka tonic.
